Finally - Hyundai group throws the towel, joins Tesla NACS standard and network

Hyundai- Kia-Genesis finally announced switching to NACS, Tesla Super charging standard and network.

Although it was obvious and unavoidable, it took them a good few months to announce the inevitable.

This announcement is probably the most important one so far since the Hyundai group is the best contender to lead the Legacy auto pack in EV transition, head to head with VW.

All other legacy auto companies are far behind in numbers and adoption rate.

1. Hyundai-Kia-Genesis Group Stats (2022):

- Total vehicles sold: 6.85 million

- Full EVs sold: 330,000

- EV adoption rate: 4.8% (330k/6.85m)

2. VW Group Stats (2022):

- Total vehicles sold: 8.3 million

- Full EVs sold: 572,000

- EV adoption rate: 6.9% (572k/8.3m)

3. Global Adoption Rate (2022):

- EVs as a percentage of global car

sales: 10%
