Is everyone in the US aware that the Model Y LR is now $42.5k after rebate vs $66k 6-7 mo ago?

05.09.23

Model Y LR is now $42.75k after rebate vs $66k, 6-7 mo ago, the exact same car. Actually, there is a cheaper Model Y now for less than $40k after the rebate, with 51 miles less range at 279 miles and it's also AWD. For those 2022 buyers, it is difficult, It is also a soft spot for any Tesla Owner that enjoyed watching their car appreciate in value during 2021-2022, and lose this extra value in a short time, now. Of course, we all know a car is not an investment, but it still hurts. These prices are never going to go back up, they are back on the right path of declining gradually towards Full BEV adoption, IMO, 80% globally by 2028.

Any potential car buyer EV or ICE should know about this. Honestly, I doubt many of them do. I myself, write about Tesla every day, and for several days I forgot it was $66k,

and thought it was $57k before. Perhaps a brain fart or maybe age, but it is clear not all of the public knows. I am sure if a survey will be conducted, The public, in general, would still think Tesla is Expensive and some will still be angry enough to pee on it, Scratch it or even burn it down all while being filmed by the secret, unknown, and under-appreciated sentry mode. The demand for Tesla in 2022 for a $66k model Y was huge, and waiting times were long.

Now at $43k and 35% off after the rebate, you would think waiting lists will grow. No doubt there are concerns about the economy and interest, etc. and I predict the car sector will slow down in general, mainly the ICE, but that did not show in Legacy Q1 reports yet, nor did it slow down in Tesla's deliveries. However, one should expect such a price drop on the estimated 2023 Global best seller, Model Y to rally more demand in the US. I do think it is lagged somewhat and will sneak on us this year, but I still think, many are not aware of this recent price development. Model 3 as well, enjoyed serious price cuts + rebates. Model 3 SR, is down from $47k to $36.5k after the rebate, a 22% total discount. Model 3 LR, is down from $58k to $40k after the rebate, a 31% total discount. Model 3 might be suffering from the Osborne effect, preventing buyers from buying now, expecting the refresh Highland to be rolled out in a few months. Anyway, I am just sharing this in case you don't know. #Tesla #TSLA #Model3 #Modely #Highland
