SpaceX finally got approval from the FAA for a flight Test

of the fully stacked Super heavy starship rocket from their Texas base.

The Booster and Spacecraft combined are 395 ft tall and 30 ft wide.

It is the biggest and most powerful Space vehicle ever built and it is designed for Full reusability, assisted by a 500 ft tall Launch tower.

However, this first test will not test those capabilities and is intended

to drop the Super Heavy booster in the Gulf and the Starship in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii, after circling most of Earth at 146 miles altitude and after 90 minutes from Launch.

The First Launch window is tomorrow April 17, at 8 A.M EST. They have a 150 minutes window.

In the case of a scrub, which is very likely, there are several Window openings through the next 5 days, to be announced.

The Starship vehicle itself, 165 ft tall, and 30 ft wide has been tested back in 2021.

It reached 6.2 miles altitude and returned back vertically, after several failures.

I guess it will be an amazing sight, whether it succeeds or fails.

Elon Musk, SpaceX Founder and Majority owner gives it a 50% chance.
